Welcome

From the humble beginnings of a couple pursuing a dream to the reality of what has become the French Ridge Vineyard and Winery, Scott and Kathy Buente have been on quite a journey.

Starting in the spring of 2001 with two types of grapes, French Ridge has blossomed into one of the largest vineyards in the tri-county area. 

Featuring 23 acres, twenty-three thousand vines, 13 different grape types and 22 different wine varieties, French Ridge Vineyard and Winery offers a true Ohio Vineyard experience.

Scott & Kathy Buente

Having grown up on a New York state vineyard, Scott was hopeful his years of experience in growing grapes would translate, as it has, to the vineyard he dreamed of operating.  Kathy shared his dream and his passion and together they established the first winery owned and operated inside Holmes County.

Located just west of Killbuck, Ohio, the rolling landscape and natural beauty of the area brings folks in from miles around.  Some enjoy visiting just to taste and sample the wines while others add to the experience by spending the night  in one of the popular, on-site cabins.

Guided Tours

Guests are also free to explore the vineyard during winery hours and guided tours are available Saturdays in September at 2 pm.  The facility is also available for hosting events.  

French Ridge Vineyard and Winery is located at 2586 TR 34, Killbuck, Ohio.
